Mission Point Press is a full-service book publishing company, also based in Traverse City, Michigan, with a wide range of publishing and marketing services.  The name was inspired by the 145-year-old Mission Point Lighthouse, on the northern tip of Old Mission Peninsula, built to warn sailors of the danger of  Traverse Bay's shores.

Doug Weaver, publisher of Chandler Lake Books, is a general partner in Mission Point Press with Anne Stanton and Heather Lee Shaw and has granted a license to Mission Point making it the exclusive publisher of books under the Chandler Lake Books imprint. Mission Point Press offers a comprehensive menu of publishing and marketing services, including website-building and other social-media management.

Anne, Heather and Doug formed Mission Point Press in April 2015 after seeing the need for a more affordable publishing option in Traverse City.

The three have a combined 66 years of experience in writing, designing, and publishing the written word. They’ve worked on every kind of book you can imagine—from two New York Times best-sellers about war to a series of gorgeous cookbooks to a tenderly written, self-published cancer memoir that has garnered dozens of rave, five-star Amazon reviews. No matter what your book—fiction or nonfiction, whimsical or serious—their mission is to help you achieve literary excellence and publishing success.

They also have the capacity to help you with the very critical challenges of marketing and publicity. They can design a custom website, show you the ins and outs of marketing your book on Amazon, set up a blog, alert you with monthly marketing reminders, and write press releases for targeted publications—all with affordable packages.

They bring to their work a Midwestern honesty—they state right upfront how much they charge and exactly what you’ll get.  And then they deliver on time and to your high expectations.

Doug, Anne and Heather live near Mission Point Lighthouse, which inspired the name of their company. They work every day in a region of unbelievable beauty where so many artists and writers have also chosen to live. They believe that by sharing stories, reading and reflecting, they enlarge their own lives and those of others. Books transform lives and have for centuries. They adore the beauty of the written word, whether it’s on a Kindle or in a beautiful, four-color printed book.
